After training as an agricultural and mechanical engineer in Russia, I wanted to continue my studies in France by taking an apprenticeship at the ESA (agricultural academy) in Angers. The Lactalis Group is expanding in Eastern European countries and is world famous, so I applied for a two-year training programme... and now I'm Assistant Quality Manager.
Which are your main assignments ?
Among my main tasks are : maintaining the HACCP system, managing and carrying out internal audits, communicating the site's Quality results, raising employees' awareness of good practice, training employees on hygiene and quality and taking responsibility for the department in my manager's absence.
Which skills have you used in carrying out your role ?
Since I have been working in Quality for Lactalis, I have mainly developed organisational and communication skills, which are indispensable for the position. My manager is helping me to develop my managerial skills and polish my technical knowledge of associated products and technologies.
Could you describe your Lactalis career path for us ?
I joined the Group almost three years ago by way of an apprenticeship which initially consisted of a year on the Laval site followed by another year on the site at Lons-le-Saunier. At the end of the two years, the Lactalis Group offered me the opportunity to return to Russia to spend four months as a replacement for the Quality Manager of the Moscow site. Then, six months ago, I came back to France to work as Assistant Quality Manager on the Bouvron (Loire-Atlantique) site.
After these enriching experiences, both in France and abroad, my plan for the coming years is to become responsible for a Quality Department in one of the Lactalis Group sites.
